The IUPU-Ft. Wayne Mastodons look to wrap up the Summit League crown at the Indiana-Purdue Jaguars Saturday.
The IUPU-Ft.Wayne Mastodons earned their 4th straight win with an 87-75 decision at Western Illinois to remain atop of the Summit with a game left. The Mastodons weren’t fancy as they took an early five point lead and slowly pulled away. Ft. Wayne held a slight 48%-46% shooting edge but hit 11-26 from long range and sank 12 more free throws for a comfortable win. Max Landis was top scorer for the Mastodons with 24 points on 7-14 with John Konchur and Michael Cinder netting 19 points apiece and a combined 13 boards. DeAngelo Stewart tossed in 16 points while Joe Reed added nine points and eight rebounds.

A top four finish in the Summit League is no small feat and the Indiana-Purdue Jaguars looked to be headed in that direction until suffering losses in five of six capped off by an 85-82 defeat to visiting South Dakota as a three point favorite. The Coyotes burned the nets at 52.5% and sank five more free throws versus the 46% shooting Jaguars who mustered seven more looks at the basket. Darell Combs kept Indiana-Purdue competitive with a contest high 32 points on 11-20 that included six makes from distance with Matt O’Leary adding 15 points and eight boards on 6-11. Jordan Pickett and Marcellus Barksdale each scored eight points with Barksdale snagging seven rebounds.
The over is 21-7 in IPFW last 28 overall and IPFW are 36-13-3 ATS in their last 52 Saturday games while going 36-13-2 ATS in their last 51 road games. Indiana-Purdue are 15-38 ATS in their last 53 home games and the over is 7-3 in their last 10 Saturday games while the Jaguars are 11-5 ATS in their last 16 vs. Summit. Like I said last time this line looks fishy…
