The Rutgers Scarlet Knights look to get in the win column at the Northwestern Wildcats on Saturday.
The Rutgers Scarlet Knights have had a season of struggles in most areas and the Big Ten is not kind to struggling teams. The Scarlet Knights remained winless in the conference following an 83-61 loss at Minnesota as a 12.5 point underdog. This was a tight contest before the Golden Gophers went on a 51-30 second half tear to win going away. Rutgers hit at 40.7% but committed 20 turnovers to give the 46% shooting Golden Gophers eleven more looks at the basket which equaled eight more field goals. DK Foreman paced the Scarlet Knights attack with 13 points and eleven rebounds with Bishop Daniels dropping 12 points. Justin Goode followed with nine points while Jonathan Laurent added eight points and eight boards.

The Northwestern Wildcats have a decent enough record at 17-11 but that hides their struggles within the Big Ten where they have fallen off the map with losses in eight of ten. The Wildcats come off of a 72-63 defeat at Michigan as a seven point underdog where they could not stop the Wolverines late despite leading for a good portion of the game. Michigan held a 49%-46% shooting edge but won it with a 20-5 advantage at the stripe. Alex Olah was the Wildcats top offensive option with 19 points and five yanks with Aaron Falzon and Tre Demps each tossing in 14 points. Gavin Skelly chipped in with eight points but both ends of the floor needed more punch.
The over is 14-2 in Rutgers last 16 overall and Rutgers are 1-7 ATS in their last 8 Saturday games while Rutgers are 6-22 ATS in their last 28 vs. Big Ten. Northwestern are 2-6 ATS in their last 8 home games and are 2-6 ATS in their last 8 games overall while going 2-6 ATS in their last 8 vs. Big Ten. Northwestern does not impress me so take that for what it’s worth…
