The Line: Army Black Knights -5 -- Over/Under: See the Latest Odds
The #4 Colgate Red Raiders have their sights set on the Patriot semis with a win versus the Army Black Knights.
The Colgate Red Raiders struggled down the stretch with defeats in seven of ten to barely hang on to 4th place in the Patriot. The Red Raiders late fade dropped them to 9-9 in the conference and left them with a losing record at 13-16. Colgate has been outscored by opponents 71-70 and their record in close games over the past month hasn’t been good. A boost in scoring and more stopping power would make this team a threat in the playoffs and a boost in offense centers on Austin Tillotson who averages 15 points and is one of the better passers in the league. Tom Rivard and Jordan Swopshire both give the team around 10.5 points and will be asked to lift their game a notch or two while five players contribute 5-8 points to give Colgate even more potential on the scoreboard.

By all accounts the Army Black Knights have had a great season at 18-12 although a 9-9 mark in the conference isn’t quite as good as they would have liked. The Black Knights are a score first squad at 79 points while giving up 74 points in their fast paced style of play. Army was playing their best basket ball over the final weeks with five consecutive victories before dropping their finale’ to Lehigh. Tanner Plomb is one of the top scorers in the Patriot League at 20 points and can hit the backboards as well at almost six boards. The dangerous Kyle Wilson averages 16 and Kevin Ferguson adds 13 points and a team high 9.6 rebounds. If these three can get any kind of help from the secondary scorers the Black Knights can be formidable.
The under is 13-3 in Colgate last 18 road games. The over is 12-2 in Army last 14 overall and is 9-2 in their last 11 vs. Patriot League. I think Army has a bit better numbers versus common opponents but not by much…
