The Minutemen are 3-0-1 ATS in their last 4 games following a straight up loss and 8-17-2 ATS in their last 27 games overall. The Rams are 12-4 ATS in their last 16 home games vs. a team with a losing road record and 1-3-1 ATS in their last 5 games overall.
UMass has a had a tough season on the defensive side of ball as they rank 287th in the country in scoring defense, however, the Minutemen have played better as of late going 3-3 over their past six games which includes a home win against VCU. Rhode Island got a great road win in dominating fashion against Dayton and although the Rams can lack some offensive punch at times, they are one of the best defensive teams in the country ranking 33rd in scoring defense. UMass was able to get a win against the Rams earlier this season, but Rhode Island is always a tough at home and as I think the Rams defense will cause the Minutemen trouble, I’m taking Rhode Island to cover this large spread.
