Utah vs. Colorado - 3/5/16 College Basketball Pick, Odds, and Prediction

The 13th ranked Utah Utes won their 6th straight game and improve to 23-7 (12-5 Pac 12) on the season after defeating the 9th ranked Arizona Wildcats, 70-64, this past Saturday. Utah was able to race out to a 40-29 halftime lead and got a huge three-pointer by Brandon Taylor late to secure the big home win. Utah shot 49.2% from the field and won the turnover battle by a 10-8 margin. The Utes held the Wildcats to 42.6% shooting from the field and 23.5% (4-17) from beyond the arc. Leading the way for Utah was Jakob Poeltl who had a double-double with 14 points, 10 rebounds, 2 assists, 3 blocks, and a steal. On the season, the Utes have been led by Jakob Poeltl (17.6 ppg, 9.0 rpg, 1.9 apg, 1.5 bpg), Jordan Loveridge (11.9 ppg, 3.7 rpg, 1.7 apg), and Kyle Kuzma (11.1 ppg, 6.0 rpg, 1.6 apg). Offensively, Utah is averaging 78.8 ppg on 49.5% shooting from the field and 36.5% shooting from beyond the arc. The Utes average 7.7 three-pointers per game and have an assist/turnover ratio of 1.32. Defensively, Utah is holding their opponents to an average of 68.6 ppg on 41.2% shooting. The Utes have a rebound margin of 5.2 and a turnover margin of -1.2.

The Buffaloes are 2-7 ATS in their last 9 Saturday games. The Utes are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 games following a ATS win and 5-0 ATS in their last 5 games overall.

Colorado got a huge boost towards their NCAA Tournament hopes with their home victories over Arizona and Arizona State and know that they probably lock up a bid if they can get the win at Utah. Utah has been one of the hottest teams in the Pac 12 as of late as over their past five games they are averaging 78.8 ppg while holding their opponents too just 59.8 ppg. Utah has one of the best players in the Pac 12 in Jakob Poeltl, however, Colorado did a solid job containing him at home and as they are one of the best rebounding teams in the Pac 12, I think the Buffaloes will be able to keep this one within the large number. Take Colorado and the points.
