The Colorado Buffaloes and 15th ranked Arizona Wildcats will face off in the quarterfinals of the PAC-12 Men’s Tournament at MGM Grand Garden Arena this Thursday night.
The 5-seed Colorado Buffaloes had no trouble advancing in the PAC-12 Tournament as they easily defeated the Washington State Cougars, 80-56, on Wednesday afternoon. Colorado was outstanding defensively in the 1st half and had little trouble getting the win after taking a 41-22 halftime lead. Colorado shot 45.5% from the field, 40.0% (10-25) from three-point range, and outrebounded Washington State by a 43-32 margin. Leading the way for the Buffaloes was George King who had 21 points, 4 rebounds, and a steal. On the season, the Buffaloes have been led by Josh Scott (16.5 ppg, 8.7 rpg, 1.8 apg, 1.7 bpg), George King (13.3 ppg, 4.8 rpg), and Josh Fortune (10.4 ppg, 3.9 rpg, 2.4 apg). Offensively, Colorado is averaging 75.8 ppg on 42.8% shooting from the field and 39.6% shooting from beyond the arc. The Buffaloes average 7.6 three-pointers per game and have an assist/turnover ratio of 1.01. Defensively, Colorado is allowing their opponents to average 70.8 ppg on 39.6% shooting. The Buffaloes have a rebound margin of 8.6 and a turnover margin of -2.7.

The 4-seed Arizona Wildcats was able to rebound after a tough road trip to Colorado and Utah to win their final two games of the season and finish the regulars season with a 24-7 overall record and 12-6 conference record. Arizona was able to get some momentum entering the Pac-12 tournament with a solid win at home against California and have one of the best scoring offensives in the country as they rank 20th in scoring offense. On the season, the Wildcats have been led by Ryan Anderson who is averaging a double-double with 15.8 ppg and 10.2 rpg. Also contributing for Arizona has been Gabe York (15.0 ppg, 3.3 rpg, 2.4 apg), Allonzo Trier (14.6 ppg, 3.4 rpg, 1.1 apg), and Kaleb Tarczewski (9.6 ppg, 9.1 rpg, 1.3 bpg). Offensively, Arizona is averaging 80.9 ppg on 48.6% shooting from the field and 37.7% shooting from beyond the arc. The Wildcats average 6.4 three-pointers per game and have an assist/turnover ratio of 1.17. Defensively, Arizona is holding their opponents to an average of 67.9 ppg on 41.4% shooting. The Wildcats have a rebound margin of 9.9 and a turnover margin of -1.0.
The Buffaloes are 4-0 ATS in thier last 4 games overall and 5-2 ATS in thier last 7 games following a ATS win. The Wildcats are 6-2 ATS in thier last 8 games after scoring more than 90 points in their previous game however, just 2-5 ATS in thier last 7 games overall.
Colorado was able to defeat Arizona by a 75-72 margin at home a few weeks ago in the only matchup between the two teams this season. Both Colorado and Arizona are great rebounding teams that have the ability to put up points on the board. Colorado looked solid in their first matchup against Washington State however, Arizona will be a much tougher matchup for the Buffaloes and as I feel Arizona will want some revenge after their recent visit to Boulder, I’m leaning towards taking Arizona as long as they are only favored by a 4-6 points when the line is released. Please check back for updates when the line is posted.
Update (12:00 PM EST) - The line is a little higher than expected for the Wildcats but I think Arizona still has the advantage. I'm taking Arizona to cover.
