The Line: Utah Valley Wolverines +1 -- Over/Under: See the Latest Odds
The UMKC Kangaroos tangle with the Utah Valley Wolverines in a WAC quarterfinal.
The WAC has dramatically changed over the years and the UMKC Kangaroos are one of those changes/additions. The 6th seed Kangaroos look to make an unexpected splash despite their 11-18 conference record and 4-10 conference mark. The offense isn’t awful at 69 points on 43% and the defense is somewhat middle of the row at 72 points allowed. The numbers were all over the map over the last month with the team going 3-7 over the past ten so obviously both ends of the floor need consistency to make a difference. That means the Kangaroos two double digit scorers have to keep producing with Martez Harrison and LaVell Boyd dropping 15 and 14 points with the secondary scorers stepping up to lessen the burden.

The Utah Valley Wolverines are not a household name in the realm of college basketball but they know that winning the conference postseason would be a step in the right direction. The number five Wolverines were 6-8 in the WAC and had plenty of problems in their non conference schedule. UVU could score the basketball at 76 points but opponents could also light up the scoreboard at almost 79 points which was towards the bottom of the national rankings. The Wolverines need to get both ends of the floor pointed in the right direction and if the ‘D’ doesn’t come through then the offense will have to shoulder the load 14 point scorers Marcel Davis, Jaden Jackson and Konner Frey can not afford an off night.
The under is 8-3 in UMKC last 11 overall and the over is 6-2 in Utah Valley last 8 overall. Inconsistency describes these teams with numbers all over the map so back either with caution…
