The 6th ranked Oklahoma Sooners will take on the 9th ranked West Virginia Mountaineers in the semifinals of the Big 12 Men’s Championship this Friday night at the Sprint Center.

The 3-seed Oklahoma Sooners was able to outlast the Iowa State Cyclones, 79-76, behind an outstanding performance by Buddy Hield to advance to in the Big-12 Tournament. Oklahoma was able to use a 10-4 run early in the 2nd half to take a double-digit lead and was able to hang on late to secure the victory. Oklahoma shot 44.4% from the field and won the turnover battle by an 18-12 margin. The Sooners allowed the Cyclones to shoot 46.9% from the field and 40.0% (10-25) from beyond the arc. Leading the way for the Sooners was Buddy Hield who had a monster game with 39 points, 9 rebounds, 2 blocks, 1 assist, and a steal. On the season, the Sooners have been led by Buddy Hield (25.1 ppg, 5.5 rpg, 2.1 apg, 1.2 spg), Isaiah Cousins (13.0 ppg, 4.7 rpg, 4.6 apg, 1.4 spg), and Jordan Woodard (12.9 ppg, 3.1 rpg, 3.6 apg, 1.6 spg). Oklahoma vs. West Virginia - 3/11/16 College Basketball Pick, Odds, and Prediction

The 2-seed West Virginia Mountaineers used their outstanding defensive pressure to cause TCU to have all sorts of problems on the offensive end and advanced after defeating the Horned Frogs by an 86-66 margin. West Virginia was impressive on the offensive end as they shot 55.6% from the field and 45.8% (11-24) from beyond the arc. The Mountaineers held the Horned Frogs to 35.2% shooting from the field and 26.3% (5-19) from three-point range. Leading the way for West Virginia was Devin Williams who had a double-double with 18 points, 13 rebounds, and 3 assists. On the season, the Mountaineers have been led by Devin Williams (12.7 ppg, 9.1 rpg, 1.4 apg), Jaysean Paige (14.3 ppg, 3.6 rpg, 1.2 apg, 1.4 spg), and Jonathan Holton (9.4 ppg, 7.8 rpg, 1.4 apg, 1.0 spg). Offensively, West Virginia is averaging 79.6 ppg on 45.1% shooting from the field and 32.3% shooting from beyond the arc. The Mountaineers average 5.9 three-pointers per game and have an assist/turnover ratio of 1.08. Defensively, West Virginia is holding their opponent to an average of 66.2 ppg on 42.6% shooting. The Mountaineers average 9.8 steals per game and have a turnover margin of 4.4.

The Sooners are 7-20 ATS in thier last 27 vs. Big 12 opponents and 0-4 ATS in thier last 4 games overall. The Mountaineers are 4-0 ATS in thier last 4 games following a ATS win and 5-0 ATS in thier last 5 games overall.

Oklahoma was able to defeat West Virginia in both matchups this season as the Sooners won a 70-68 battle at home and was able to get an easy 76-62 victory at West Virginia. West Virginia leads the country in steals per game and relies heavily on generating offensive off their defensive, however, as Oklahoma have great ball handlers at the guard position and a great scoring threat in Buddy Hield, I’m leaning towards taking Oklahoma if they are favored by about 3-5 points. Please check back for updates when the line is released.

Update - That was a tough ATS loss for the Sooners last night but I'm going to back Oklahoma once again as I'm surprised that they aren't favored by a few more here. Take Oklahoma to cover.
