The Central Michigan Chippewas battle the Tennessee-Martin Skyhawks in CIT action on Wednesday.
The Tennessee-Martin Skyhawks were the top team in the Ohio Valley West Division and looked capable of winning the conference playoffs until Austin Peay surprised everyone and won the postseason to go Dancing. It was the Governors that knocked the Skyhawks from the playoffs so 19-14 UTM had to settle for the CIT. The Skyhawks were middle of the row in most areas with 72.7 points scored on 44.3% while allowing 70.8 points on 43% and winning their share of close contests. Twymond Howard leads the attack at 155 points and seven rebounds with Myles Taylor adding 12 points and 5.8 boards to give the Skyhawks offense and rebounding which is a requirement in the postseason.

Many experts had pegged the Central Michigan Chippewas as one of the best in the MAC but that didn’t come to be with a second place finish in the West Division. Guards Chris Fowler and Braylon Rayson were a terrific backcourt tandem with over 167 points each with Rayshawn Simmons giving the team plenty of production.
