The Hawaii Warriors have another upset on their minds with a win versus the Maryland Terrapins.
The Cal Golden Bears grabbed all the ink leading up to their first round match up with Hawaii but at the end of 40 minutes it was the Warriors moving on thanks to a 77-66 victory. The Warriors were up six at the break and Cal just couldn’t close the gap with their 41% shooting. UH fired away at 52% which added up to a decisive four more field goals. Quincy Smith gave the Warriors 19 points followed by a 17 point, seven board effort from Roderick Bobbitt. Stefan Jankovic added 16 points and five yanks while Michael Thomas and Aaron Valdes combined for 17 points with Thomas logging six pulls.

The Maryland Terrapins stole the ball with second remaining to preserve a two point lead on the way to a 79-74 win versus the South Dakota State Jackrabbits. The Terrapins appeared to be in complete control with a 34-22 lead after 20 minutes before surviving the closing minutes as a nine point favorite. SDSU hit at 40% but hung tough with the 52% shooting Terps with 16 more looks at the basket with eight more free throws for MD being huge. The Terrapins were saved by agame high 27 points on 7-9 from Deondre Parks with Mike Daum adding 16 points and six pulls. George Marshall was next in line with 15 points while Reed Tellinghuisen chipped in with eight points.
I think the question here is whether Maryland plays a full 40 minutes because they possess some of the best talent in the game and if that happens this is a huge double digit win. That's something we might not even know until latein the game but I will look at the line first...
