The Texas Arlington Mavericks take the floor with the New Jersey Tech Highlanders in a CIT quarterfinal tilt.
The New Jersey Tech Highlanders might be one of the least known teams remaining in the postseason after downing Boston U 83-72 Monday to reach the CIT quarterfinals. The Highlanders did their damage in the first 20 minutes with an 18 point lead heading to the locker room before going into cruise control as a 4.5 point favorite. This came down to the better shooting team winning with the Terriers held to less then 40% while NJIT burned the nets at 54% which equaled ten more field goals. Damon Lynn pumped in 31 points and grabbed seven boards with Tim Coleman adding 20 points, nine boards and six assists. Rob Ukawuba scored 14 while Emmanuel Tselentakis tossed in 12 points with six pulls and six helpers with eight turnovers.

The Texas Arlington Mavericks received bye in to the CIT quarterfinals following a first round 75-59 rout of Savannah State. The Mavericks had too much of everything with a 17 point first half lead as a 12.5 point road favorite. The Savannah State offense never got untracked on 31% from the floor while UTA fired away at nearly 53% for a decisive 13 more baskets. The tandem of Drew Charles and Jalen Jones were too much for the Tigers with 19 points apiece with Jones hauling in a game high ten rebounds. Kennedy Eubanks added 13 points and snared nine boards while Jorge Bilbao netted nine points and grabbed another seven rebounds with four others reaching the scoring column.
The Mavericks play at a fast pace and shoot the ball well while defending just as well while New Jersey Tech is a far better offensive team then defensive. The question is whether the Highlanders can score and get a few stops. The line will tell us what Vegas thinks…
