The North Carolina Tar Heels and the Chattanooga Mocs face off on Sunday in Chapel Hill in college basketball action.
The North Carolina Tar Heels got off to a 1-0 start to the season by beating Tulane 95-75 on Friday Night in New Orleans. North Carolina shot 49.3 percent from the floor and 45 percent from beyond the 3-point arc and dominating the boards in the win. Justin Jackson led the Tar Heels with 27 points in 29 minutes of action. Joel Berry II had 23 points and 6 rebounds for UNC, Isaiah Hicks had 16 points and 6 rebounds, Tony Bradley had 10 points and 5 rebounds, and Kennedy Meeks had 9 points and 15 boards. After losing in the NCAA Tournament Final last season he expectations are sky high this season.

The Chattanooga Mocs got their season started by upsetting Tennessee beating the Vols by a lopsided score of 82-69. Chattanooga had 9 steals against Tennessee and shot 46.6 percent from the floor including 27.8 percent from beyond the 3-point arc. Justin Tuoyo led the Mocs with 22 points and 11 rebounds. Chattanooga’s Tre McLean had 21 points and 10 rebounds, Greg Pryor had 14 points, and Johnathan Burroughs-Cook had 11 points. If Chattanooga can get the win here this would be a start to the season even their biggest optimists could have predicted.
North Carolina is 4-1 against the spread in their last 5 home games, 8-2 against the spread following a win, and 7-3 against the spread at home against a team with a winning road record. Chattanooga is 4-1 against the spread against the ACC, 1-6 against the spread in their last 7 games, and 1-5 against the spread following a win.
I see Chattanooga keeping it close once again and while I am not sure they pull off another upset they keep it closer than the generous points we are getting here.
