The Hawaii Rainbow Warriors and the Florida Atlantic Owls face off early Tuesday morning as part of ESPN’s 24 Hours of basketball.
The Hawaii Rainbow Warriors are 1-1 to start the season after losing by a point to SIU Edwardsville and then bouncing back with a win over Texas State. Hawaii is shooting 46.5 percent from the floor and just 27 percent from beyond the 3-point arc and are averaging 71 points per game. Noah Allen is the Warriors leading scorer averaging 17 points and 5.5 rebounds while playing 38.5 minutes per game. Sherifff Drammeh is averaging 15.5 points for UH, Jack Purchase is averaging 11.5 points, and Gibson Johnson is averaging 10 points and 7.5 rebounds. Hawaii is coming off of a big season last year where they won in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament but they aren’t eligible for the Tournament this season.
USA TODAY Sports
The Florida Atlantic Owls are off to a 0-2 start to the year after losing to both SIU Edwardsville and Texas State. FAU is averaging 62.5 points and they are shooting 33.3 percent from the floor including 31.7 percent from beyond the 3-point arc while their opponents are averaging 69 points and are shooting 45.1 percent. Gerdarius Troutman leads the Owls averaging 13 points per game. Nick Rutherford is averaging 11 points for FAU, Ronald Delph is averaging 8.5 points and 7 rebounds, and Frank Booker is averaging 8 points. This is looking like it could be a long season for Florida Atlantic.
Hawaii is 5-1 against the spread against Conference USA, 5-2 against the spread in their last 7 non-conference games, and 2-5 against the spread following a win. FAU is 5-12 against the spread in their last 17 road games, 3-9 against the spread in their last 12 games, and 0-4 against the spread in their last 4 non-conference games.
This line seems very low and I would jump on Hawaii quick before it moves.
