The Line: Clemson Tigers -- Over/Under: See the Latest Odds

The Clemson Tigers take the hardwood with the Xavier Musketeers in round two of college basketball’s Tire Pros Invitational.

The Clemson Tigers certainly had a lot of bite in the Tire Pros Invitational opener as they completely dismantled Davidson 95-78 as a 3.5 point favorite. The Tigers exploded to a 13 point lead after 20 minutes and essentially traded baskets the rest of the way. Clemson won the shooting battle 51.7%-39.7% but really made their living at the line where they sank 13 more free throws then the Wildcats who hurt themselves with 16 turnovers. Avry Holmes paced the Clemson attack with 22 points and six pulls on 6-12 with Jaron Blossomgame tossing in 17 points and snaring another six board. The Tigers received 16 points from Gabe DeVoe while Donte Grantham and Sidy Djitte each scored 12 points and combined for 14 rebounds.

Xavier Musketeers vs. Clemson Tigers - 11/18/16 College Basketball Pick, Odds, and Prediction

On paper the first round match up of Xavier and Missouri in the Tire Pros Invitational seemed to have Musketeers written all over it but the Tigers forced overtime and dropped a heartbreaker by an 83-82 count as a 14 point underdog. The X-Men held a slight 41.5%-39% shooting advantage but were a mere 2-19 from long range which obviously cost them points and almost the game. Edmond Sumner led the Musketeers offense with 18 points and five yanks on 7-19 from the floor with JP Macura right on his heels with 17 points and five pulls on 6-12 accuracy. Trevon Bluiett and RaShid Gaston each netted 12 points with the latter hauling in ten rebounds while Sean O’Mara rounded out the top contributors with eleven points.

The over is 7-1-1 in Clemson last 9 vs. Big East. The over is 8-3 in Xavier last 11 overall and Xavier  are 8-3 ATS in their last 11 neutral site games.

I saw both teams play and I don’t think trends mean much at this point because teams need time to gel. Also, many of the preseason write-ups aren’t accurate and some are just plain wrong. It’s too early for a line so please check back when a number is released which could be tonight or tomorrow so please check back…
