The Albany Great Danes shoot for another win when the Grand Canyon Antelopes take the floor in college basketball action.
While many think the Albany Great Danes will be dangerous in the America East they are more of an unknown then known. The Great Danes rebounded from a rout by Cincinnati to hammer SUNY-Oneonta 97-56 that probably should have never taken place. Albany led by 27 after 20 minutes and never let up with the Dragons held to 28% from the floor while countering at 47% with ten more looks at the basket. Mike Rowley led the Great Danes scoring spree with 16 points and five yanks with David Nichols right on his heels with 15 points while Jaraan Lands tossed in 13 points and snared five yanks. Terrel Martin-Garcia posted eleven points and grabbed seven boards while the trio of Greig Stire, Travis Charles and Costa Anderson gave the Great Danes ten points apiece.

The Grand Canyon Antelopes are in something of a rebuilding mode so an 0-2 start is not completely surprising. However, the Antelopes didn’t look totally outclassed in an 85-76 defeat at Penn State. The Nittany Lions connected at over 46% with GRC held to less then 39% which was a decisive seven more baskets for Penn State. Joshua Braun kept the Antelopes from getting blown out with a game high 25 points including five bombs with a 13 point, seven board effort coming from Oscar Frayer while Darion Clark dropped 12 points and hauled in 14 points. Keonta Vernon and Shaq Car combined for 21 points and 12 boards so Grand Canyon wasn’t a complete pushover.
The under is 6-2 in Albany last 8 overall and the under is 6-2 in Albany last 8 Saturday games while Albany are 3-8 ATS in their last 11 games overall. Grand Canyon are 2-5-1 ATS in their last 8 games overall.
I don’t think the Antelopes are a bad team and Albany looks dangerous so yeah, I’ll take the Great Danes…
