The Youngstown State Penguins look to get back in the win column against the South Alabama Jaguars in a Saturday college basketball game.
The Youngstown State Penguins looked good heading in to their match up with the Jacksonville Dolphins but they disappointed at both ends of the floor in a 79-54 defeat that couldn’t have been more one sided. YSU trailed by eight at the half and completely lost it over the final 20 minutes. The Dolphins dominated the shooting 50.8%-34.5% which was 12 field goals and game over as YSU tried to come back on threes but were just 4-23. Cameron Morse was the lone Penguin to break double figures in scoring with 18 points but he was only 5-17 while four players contributed 6-7 points which wasn’t enough.

The South Alabama Jaguars seemed to have a substantial advantage on paper versus Florida International but they needed to rally to force overtime where they pulled out a 69-64 victory as an eight point favorite. Both tams sank shots at around 36% with the Jaguars hitting a few more baskets to pull out a game that could have easily gone in the loss column. Josh Ajayi saved the Jaguars as he exploded for a game high 27 points and ten rebounds followed by Georgi Boyanov with 12 points and seven boards while Don MuepoKelly and Shaq Calhoun scored eleven points apiece and combined for ten boards.
The over is 21-7 in Youngtown State last 28 non-conference games and the over is 36-15 in Youngstown State last 51 Saturday games while the over is 49-24 in Youngstown State last 73 road games. The over is 7-3 in South Alabama last 10 home games.
Neither team inspired confidence Friday night and I question if there aren’t better options to wager on…
