The Rhode Island Rams and Duke Blue Devils meet Sunday afternoon in college basketball action at the Mohegan Sun Arena on ESPN.
The Rhode Island Rams look for an impressive 5-0 start after beating the Cincinnati Bearcats, 76-71. In the victory, Rhode Island shot 44.8 percent from the field and had just 10 turnovers. E.C. Matthews led the Rams with 18 points and six rebounds while Kuran Iverson had 15 points and five assists. Hassan Martin and Jared Terrell were two other Rhode Island starters to score double-digit points. Rhode Island may be surprising the country a bit with its fast start, but the Rams are an experienced basketball team that’s possibly the best the A-10 has to offer. Rhode Island has talent and seven upperclassmen, so this isn’t a team that’s going to be intimidated. The Rhode Island Rams have split their last four neutral site games.

The Duke Blue Devils look for a 4-1 start to the season after beating the Penn State Nittany Lions, 78-68. In the victory, Duke shot 47.4 percent from the field and made nine threes. Amile Jefferson led the Blue Devils with 16 points and 15 rebounds while Luke Kennard had 15 points and three assists. Matt Jones and Grayson Allen were the other two Duke starters to score double-digit points. Even while being undermined due to injuries, Duke has still scored no less than 75 points in all four games this season. When the Duke Blue Devils get fully healthy, they’ll possibly be the best team in the country. The Duke Blue Devils have split their last eight neutral site games.
The Rams are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 neutral site games and 5-16 ATS in their last 21 Sunday games. The Blue Devils are 1-10 ATS in their last 11 neutral site games and 2-9 ATS in their last 11 games overall. The under is 16-5 in Blue Devils last 21 overall and the under is 17-6 in Rams last 23 neutral site games.
Rhode Island is no joke and has the talent and experience to give a banged up Duke team some issues. This game means everything for the Rhode Island Rams NCAA Tournament resume and you can bet they'll be more motivated than the Blue Devils. Not sure the Rams can win outright, but they're going to give everything they have to compete. I like the points here.
