The Georgetown Hoyas and Oklahoma State Cowboys meet Wednesday night in a college basketball matchup at the Lahaina Civic Center.
The Georgetown Hoyas look for another big victory to get back to a .500 record. In their 57-73 loss to the Wisconsin Badgers, Georgetown shot 38.3 percent from the field and turned the ball over 10 times. L.J. Peak led the Hoyas with 18 points and two assists while Rodney Pryor had 14 points and three rebounds. Jonathan Mulmore scored eight points off the bench and Isaac Copeland was scoreless in 18 minutes of play. Georgetown needs to make up its mind on what type of team it’s going to be, as these early struggles are inexcusable for a team so experienced. If the losses continue to pile up, coach John Thompson III may seriously be on the hot seat. The Georgetown Hoyas have split their last four neutral site games.

The Oklahoma State Cowboys look to rebound from their first loss and build on their 4-1 record. In a 75-107 loss to the North Carolina Tar Heels, OK State shot 36.1 percent from the field and allowed 50-plus points in both halves. Jawun Evans led the Cowboys with 30 points and two rebounds while Lindy Waters III had 10 points and two steals. Jeffrey Carroll scored eight points off the bench and Leyton Hammonds grabbed four rebounds. Oklahoma State is playing some solid basketball out of the gate and just ran into a UNC team that’s playing like one of the top teams in the country. Overall, OK State has scored at least 75 points in all of its games and can shoot a lot of its competition out of the gym. The Oklahoma State Cowboys have lost three of their last four neutral site games.
The Hoyas are 6-2 ATS in their last 8 vs. Big 12 and 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games overall. The Cowboys are 11-3-1 ATS in their last 15 Wednesday games and 5-1 ATS in their last 6 neutral site games. The over is 4-0 in Cowboys last 4 neutral site games and the under is 4-0 in Hoyas last 4 overall.
Georgetown could easily be 1-4 on the season if the Oregon Ducks could make a couple of baskets. This is not a good Hoyas team despite their experience and the motivation early this season could be rapidly slipping away as the losses pile up. Meanwhile, the Oklahoma State Cowboys can't miss a shot and have the offense to run the Hoyas out of the building. This line with OK State is a gift given how Georgetown has looked.
