The Towson Tigers lost their 2nd straight game and dropped to 2-2 on the season after being defeated by the Boston College Eagles, 80-70, this past Tuesday. Towson was able to overcome a 45-37 deficit at halftime however, the Eagles were able to pull out the victory after finishing the game on 16-7 run. Towson allowed Boston College to shoot 46.0% from the field and was outrebounded by the Eagles by a 36-26 margin. Leading the way for the Tigers was Arnaud William Adala Moto who had 20 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assists, and 3 steals. On the season, Towson is averaging 71.0 ppg on 41.3% shooting from the field. The Tigers are averaging 5.8 three-pointers per game on 31.1% three-point shooting. Offensively, Towson has been led by Mike Morsell (20.5 ppg, 4.0 rpg, 2.0 apg), Arnaud William Adala Moto (18.0 ppg, 9.0 rpg, 1.3 apg, 1.3 spg), John Davis (8.8 ppg, 5.8 rpg, 1.3 apg), and Eddie Keith II (6.3 ppg, 4.8 rpg, 3.0 apg). Defensively, Towson is allowing their opponents to average 71.0 ppg on 40.7% shooting from the field.
The Seawolves are 1-3-1 ATS in their last 5 road games and 1-6-2 ATS in their last 9 games overall. The Tigers are 15-6 ATS in their last 21 Friday games and 2-6 ATS in their last 8 home games.
Stony Brook made it to the NCAA Tournament last year however, lost the best player in the America East Conference in Jameel Warney (19.8 ppg, 10.8 rpg) and will need to rely more on their backcourt play to provide scoring this season. Towson returns the majority of their team that finished with a respectable 20-13 record last season and should once again be a contender in the CAA this season. Towson is an experienced team that really can get at you on the defensive end as Stony Brook hasn’t shot the ball particularly well so far this season, I like Towson in this one. The line has yet to be released in this one but as long as Towson isn’t favored by too much, I’m leaning towards taking the Tigers in this one.
