The Appalachian State Mountaineers face a tall task in winning a college basketball game at the Duke Blue Devils.
The Appalachian State Mountaineers have won consecutive contests to gain some momentum they will need at Duke. The Mountaineers come off of a 70-61 victory against visiting Hartford that was competitive until late. ASU held a 43%-40% edge in marksmanship with a +11 on the backboards that helped ASU to eleven more shot attempts and six more makes which was decisive. Appalachian State leaned heavily on Ronshad Shabazz who poured in a game high 28 points with eight boards on 10-22 while Isaac Johnson and Jake Babic combined for 20 points on 8-13. Four others tossed in between 4-6 so ASU had sufficient help on the scoreboard..

Many pundits claim the Duke Blue Devils are best team in college basketball but they have flaws, whatever that means. At 5-1 the Blue Devils look pretty good to me and are the envy of many teams. Duke earned their third straight win Wednesday as they throttled William & Mary 88-67 as a 16 lead after 20 minutes was too much of a hole for the Tribe. Duke sank half their looks and held W&M to 43% from the field which was a difference of seven baskets and was the winning stat. A balanced Blue Devils attack saw 19 points from Frank Jackson with Amile Jefferson dropped 15 and grabbed ten rebounds. Grayson Allen scored 17 points, snagged five yanks and posted six assists while Luke Kennard and Matt Jones combined for 21 points.
The under is 20-6 in Duke last 26 overall and Duke are 3-10 ATS in their last 13 games overall.
The Blue Devils win by whatever margin they choose but whether they win by 20 or 35 is totally their choice so it’s almost a guess…
