Coming up on Saturday afternoon from Sanford Pentagon in Sioux Falls, the Milwaukee Panthers and the UC Irvine Anteaters will be meeting up in college basketball activity.
Milwaukee comes into this game with a 1-3 record on the season. The Panthers won their opener against the Milwaukee School of engineering 88-58, but then dropped their next two 68-54 against Memphis and 77-59 versus DePaul. In Friday’s game against East Tennessee State, Milwaukee lost another one 86-62.

Cody Wichmann and Brock Stull have been the most dynamic and effective players thus far for Milwaukee. Wichmann came into Friday’s game averaging 10.5 PPG with 2.5 RPG for the Panthers, and Stull had posted 8.5 PPG with 7.0 RPG. In the East Tennessee State matchup, Stull led the Panthers with 16 points and six rebounds, while Wichmann managed eight points and four rebounds of his own.
Over on the UC Irvine side, they’re coming into Saturday’s game with a 3-2 mark on the young season so far. The Anteaters dropped their opener against Utah State, but then came back to get a win over San Diego State 73-58. UC Irvine split their next two games with a loss to Cal 75-65 and a win over Pacific 72-65. In Friday’s South Dakota State Game, the Anteaters got another win 63-52 to advance past .500 on the year.
Jaron Martin and Ioannis Dimakopoulos have been the standout players for UC Irvine thus far. Martin came into Friday with a 15.5 PPG average alongside 4.3 RPG, and Dimakopoulos had managed 11.5 PPG. In the South Dakota State game, Martin led the way with 17 points, eight rebounds and four assists which helped key the victory.
UC Irvine is 4-0 ATS in their last four games versus a team with a losing straight-up record, and 4-1 ATS in their last five games versus a team with a winning percentage below .400. UC Irvine is also 9-3-1 ATS in their last 13 neutral-site games, and 5-2 ATS in their last seven games overall. The under is 6-1 in the Anteaters last seven overall, and 28-10 in UC Irvine’s last 38 non-conference games.
As for Milwaukee, the over is 5-1 in their last six Saturday games.
There’s honestly not a whole lot to get excited about here if you’re not a fan of either team. That said, both teams need to find some consistent assistance for their main pair of scorers, and I feel like UC Irvine has a better chance at doing that, as the Anteaters have some notable names further down their roster. I’ll take UC Irvine to cover here, provided the line isn’t too bad.
