The Davidson Wildcats and Mercer Bears take the hardwood in college basketball action on Tuesday.
The Davidson Wildcats hope to keep the ball rolling when they oppose Mercer. The Wildcats have won three in a row after downing visiting Charlotte by a 79-57 count with a 15 point lead heading to the locker room easily holding up. The Wildcats connected at just 41.8% from the floor but made their living at the defensive end of the floor with Mercer held to 28% accuracy for a difference of nine field goals which was decisive. Jordan Watkins led the Wildcats defense with a game high 22 points on 6-8 from down town with Peyton Aldridge and Jack Gibbs tossing in 13 points apiece while Will Magarity added 12 points and ten rebounds followed by an eleven point effort from Jon Axel Gudmundsson.

The Mercer Bears look like they could be a team to watch in the SoCon if they are consistent at both ends of the floor. The Bears dropped to 4-2 following a 65-63 loss to a good Akron squad as a 4.5 point underdog. The Zips held a 46.5%-42% edge in marksmanship, threes and field goals to overcome nine more looks at the basket by the Bears. Mercer received 17 points from Ria’n Holland with Desmond Ringer adding 16 points and six boards while Demetre Rivers and Jordan Strawberry combined for 19 points. The Bears needed just a few more options at the offensive end or a bit more production from their big guns.
Davidson are 18-5 ATS in their last 23 Tuesday games and Mercer are 3-11 ATS in their last 14 games overall.
