On Thursday from Robert A. Mott Gym in San Luis Obispo, the Cal State Fullerton Titans will be visiting the Cal Poly Mustangs in college basketball activity.
Cal State Fullerton comes into this game with a 7-8 record on the season. The Titans were 4-7 at one point, but then rattled off three wins over Portland, Bethesda and Hawaii before falling to CSU Northridge in their most recent game.

Leading the way in scoring for Cal State Fullerton is Tre Coggins, with 18.6 PPG and 3.9 RPG. Also averaging in double-figures for the Titans are Lionheart Leslie (12.8 PPG; 4.1 RPG) and Khalil Ahmad (12.0 PPG; four games), while Jackson Rowe (9.4 PPG) is close.
Over on the Cal Poly side, they’re sitting on a 5-10 mark this season. The Mustangs have lost six straight games, falling to Fresno State, California, Washington, Grand Canyon, Princeton and UC Davis in that span.
Just two players average in double-figures for Cal Poly this year: Kyle Toth (11.4 PPG) and Josh Martin (10.8 PPG; 8.4 RPG; five games). That said, Luke Meikle (9.8 PPG), Victor Joseph (9.3 PPG) and Donovan Fields (9.2 PPG) are all close to that double-figure threshold for the Mustangs.
Cal State Fullerton is 18-38-1 ATS in their last 57 versus the Big West, and 10-22 ATS in their last 32 games following a straight-up loss. Cal State Fullerton is also 8-18 ATS in their last 26 games overall, and 15-36 ATS in their last 51 road games.
As for Cal Poly, they’re 16-34-1 ATS in their last 51 versus the Big West, and 8-21 ATS in their last 29 games overall. Cal Poly is also 2-6 ATS in their last eight games following an ATS win, and 2-9 ATS in their last 11 Thursday games.
During their losing streak, the Mustangs haven’t been scoring much at all. In that span, they’ve got a high of 64 points (twice) and a low at 52 points. Cal Poly lacks quite a bit in the way of go-to scoring and rebounding, and Cal State Fullerton has them beaten in that respect. I like the Titans to cover here.
