The Line: Quinnipiac Bobcats +1.5 -- Over/Under: See the Latest Odds
The Dartmouth Big Green and Quinnipiac Bobcats meet Saturday in college basketball action at the TD Bank Sports Center.
The Dartmouth Big Green hope to take a step forward in the second year under coach David McLaughlin after winning just seven games last season. Dartmouth struggled mightily on the offensive end, shooting just 43.2 percent from the field and averaging 67 points per game. The good news for the Big Green is that they return their top-five players, including Evan Boudreaux and Guilien Smith, two double-digit scorers who combined for 796 points and 352 rebounds last season. That combo will keep Dartmouth competitive, while Miles Wright brings the senior leadership and Brendan Barry provides the consistent outside shooting. This should be a bounce back season for the Dartmouth Big Green. The Dartmouth Big Green have lost 11 of their last 15 road games.
USA TODAY Sports
The Quinnipiac Bobcats have won a combined 19 games the last two seasons, which encouraged them to sign former Villanova assistant Baker Dunleavy, who is the son of Tulane head coach, Mike Dunleavy Sr. There’s some work to be done with Quinnipiac, as the Bobcats lose three of their top four players from last season, leaving Chaise Daniels to shoulder most of the load at least for now. Daniels is a senior center who was named to the Preseason All-MAAC Third Team and is coming off a season in which he averaged 13 points and 6.2 rebounds. Abdulai Bundu has over 1,200 minutes under his belt and Andrew Robinson did shoot 34.2 percent from deep in a limited role last season. With a new coach and a heavy roster turnover, the Quinnipiac Bobcats enter the year as a giant question mark. The Quinnipiac Bobcats have split their last eight home games.
Will update with trends when / if they're released.
Quinnipiac is not an easy team to beat home, but the Bobcats have a lot of roster turnover and have a head coach who has never been a head coach before. The Dartmouth Big Green return majority of last years roster, which should lead to more success this program has seen in quite some time. A duo of Boudreaux and Smith is going to make the Big Green a tough out, and that should give them an edge over a Bobcats squad that's trying to find it's way. It's going to take a while for Quinnipiac. I'll lay the bucket with Darmouth on the road, as I know what I'm getting with its roster.
