Down in Ruston at Thomas Assembly Center on Monday, the Southeast Missouri State Redhawks and the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs will be meeting up in college basketball action.
Southeast Missouri State managed to go 15-18 on the season last year, losing seven straight games after starting out 4-3. The Redhawks did finish the season on something of a high note, winning four of their last seven.

In Southeast Missouri State’s first game this year, they took an 81-69 win over MO Baptist. In that game, Denzel Mahoney was the leading Redhawks scorer with 21 points, two rebounds and an assist. Ledarrius Brewer also provided 14 points, five rebounds, three assists and two steals off the bench.
Over on the Louisiana Tech side, they’re coming off a 23-10 mark last year. After starting out 10-6, the Bulldogs won 11 of their next 13 games but went 2-2 to close out the year, ending with a 93-77 loss to Marshall.
In their first game this year, Louisiana Tech posted a 112-71 win over Texas-Tyler. Heading up the scoring for the Bulldogs was Jalen Harris, who had 25 points, five rebounds, one assist and two steals. Every Bulldogs player scored in that one.
The over is 4-1 in the Bulldogs’ last five overall and 4-0 in the last four Monday games. Louisiana Tech is 14-6-1 ATS in their last 21 Monday games and 4-1 ATS in their last five home games.
Meanwhile, Southeast Missouri State is 1-4 ATS in their last five Monday games and 0-4 ATS in their last four road games. The under is 5-1 in their last six games as a road underdog and 6-1 in their last seven road games.
This will be Southeast Missouri State’s rest real test of the season, as Louisiana Tech is a formidable team capable of posting a lot of points—as they showed in their opening game. All things considered, I think the Bulldogs have a distinct edge here and I like them to keep rolling and cover. I’ll take LA Tech.
