Over in Corvallis at Gill Coliseum on Monday, the Wyoming Cowboys and the Oregon State Beavers will be meeting up in college basketball activity.
Wyoming is coming off a pretty successful season last year, finishing 18-14 in pre-tournament play. After starting out 10-2, the Cowboys couldn’t string together more than two wins in a row the rest of the way. In the CBI tournament, Wyoming beat Eastern Washington, UMKC and Utah Valley before taking two of three games against Coastal Carolina for the championship.

Wyoming started things out on a high note this year with a 74-65 victory over Chattanooga in their opener. Hayden Dalton wast the star of the show in that one, scoring 30 points with 13 rebounds, three assists and two blocks to set the pace.
Over on the Oregon State side, they crashed and burned with a 5-27 record last year. After winning their first two games, the Beavers posted losing streaks of four, five, 14 and four games the rest of the season.
The Beavers started things out with a win over Southern Utah in their opener, taking the victory 99-82. Leading the way for Oregon State in that one was Tres Tinkle, who posted 24 points, six rebounds and two assists. Ethan Thompson also had a nice game with 20 points, eight rebounds, five assists and two steals.
Oregon State is 7-1 ATS in their last eight Monday games and 5-2 ATS in their last seven games as an underdog. The over is 4-1 in the Beavers’ last five home games and 5-1 in their last six overall.
Meanwhile, Wyoming is 4-1 ATS in their last five games following an ATS loss and 6-2 ATS in their last eight road games. The over is 4-0 in the Cowboys’ last four road games and 5-2 in their last seven Monday games.
Wyoming was fairly underwhelming in their opening win over Chattanooga, but it could have been a case of the Cowboys playing down to their competition. That said, Wyoming does have several capable scorers on their roster, and I expect them to break out here. I’ll take the Cowboys for the cover.
