The Golden Gophers offense rode the shoulders of Jordan Murphy who poured in a game high 35 points on 13-22 from the field while hauling in a contest high 15 rebounds.  Minnesota received 15 points and another ten rebounds from Reggie Lynch while Nate Mason chipped in with eleven points and five pulls.

The Providence Friars look for back to back wins to kick off the season when the Minnesota Golden Gophers visit. Providence began the year with a no doubt about it 84-55 victory versus the Houston Baptist Huskies. The Friars jumped to a 19 point lead after 20 minutes and continued to press the issue until the final horn sounded. Providence was at their best defensively with the Huskies held to 31.7% accuracy while forcing 18 turnovers.

A balanced Providence offence had four players reach double figures in scoring with Maliek White leading the way with 13 points on 5-7 from the floor. Isaiah Jackson tossed in eleven points and the twosome of Kalif Young and Kyron Cartwright giving the Friars attack ten points apiece with Cartwright handing out a game high ten helpers.

Over is 9-2-1 in Minnesota last 12 Monday games and over is 9-2 in Minnesota last 11 overall. Providence are 11-4 ATS in their last 15 games overall and over is 9-4 in Providence last 13 overall.

Both teams are loaded with talent and are gunning for another NCAA invitation. Nobody should be shocked by the outcome here but I’ll go with the Friars…
