The #20 Northwestern Wildcats will look to remain unbeaten with a quality home win over the Bluejays after climbing to 2-0 with a 75-66 win over Saint Peter’s in their last outing. Bryant McIntosh led the team with 17 points on 5 of 9 shooting while sharing the team lead with 7 rebounds. Dererk Pardon came 2nd with 15 points on 4 for 9 shooting with a 7 for 8 mark from the foul line, while Gavin Skelly came right behind with 14 points and 6 boards. Scottie Lindsey added 12 points with a pair of threes and a team-high 6 assists, while Vic Law added 10 points, 7 boards and a pair of steals as the last Wildcat to score in double figures for Northwestern in the win. Lindsey leads the Wildcats with an average of 19 points per game, while Law is the team’s leading rebounder with 7 boards per game and McIntosh leads the team in assists with 5 dimes per game this season. As a team, Northwestern is scoring 77 points on 44.4% shooting from the field, 29.7% from behind the arc and 77% from the foul line this season.
Creighton is 10-2 ATS in their last 12 games against the Big Ten and 1-4 ATS in their last 5 road games while the over is 4-1 in their last 5 non-conference games. Northwestern is 4-0 ATS in their last 4 games against the Big East and 2-6 ATS in their last 8 games following a win while the over is 6-0 in their last 6 games overall.
This should be a great game and one that’s probably better to watch than bet. However, for the sake of a pick, I thought Northwestern was going to beat the crap out of Saint Peter’s, and they let the Peacocks stay in the game for most of the night. Creighton has looked solid offensively, and while Northwestern is going to be the toughest test that Creighton has faced this season, the Wildcats will be hard pressed to keep the Bluejays off of the scoreboard. I think that Creighton is on to something here offensively and can eke out a cover at the very least if not an outright win.
