We have some non-conference action on the hardwood as the UC-Davis Aggies face off against the Pacific Tigers in a college basketball matchup on Wednesday night.

The UC-Davis Aggies will look to get off to a 2-0 start after winning their season opener by a final score of 74-57 over Northern Colorado in their last outing. Chima Moneke led the team with 28 points on 10 of 21 shooting with a team-high 8 rebounds in the win. TJ Shorts II came 2nd with 15 points with a team-high 3 assists and 4 steals while Joe Mooney went a perfect 5 for 5 from the floor with a pair of triples and Siler Schneider added 10 points with a pair of threes of his own to round out the double-digit scoring for the Aggies in the win. As a team, the Aggies are scoring 74 points per game on 50.9% shooting from the floor, 50% from behind the 3-point line and 81.2% from the foul line this season.

USA TODAY Sports

The Pacific Tigers will hope that some home cooking will help the Tigers get their first win after dropping their season opener by a final score of 89-80 at the hands of Stanford on Sunday. Miles Reynolds led the team with 20 points on 6 of 15 shooting from the floor and an 8 for 9 mark from the foul line and a team-high 3 assists. Roberto Gallinat came 2nd with 15 points on 6 of 14 shooting with a pair of threes and Namdi Okonkwo added 10 points. Anthony Townes fell one point shy of a double-double, putting up 9 points with a team-high 10 boards in the loss, while Jack Williams added a pair of blocks and Kendall Small chipped in 3 steals in the losing effort. As a team, Pacific is scoring 80 points per game on 45.6% shooting from the field, 28.6% from behind the 3-point line and 14 for 21 from the charity stripe this season.

UC-Davis is 17-4 ATS in their last 21 Wednesday games and 4-1-1 ATS in their last 6 games overall while the under is 6-1 in their last 7 games following a win. Pacific is 2-9 ATS in their last 11 home games and 1-4 ATS in their last 5 non-conference games while the over is 5-1 in their last 6 games against the Big West.

I was really impressed with Pacific and how they were able to hang with Stanford despite not getting the win. However, although Pacific will be a much tougher test than Northern Colorado, I feel that the Aggies are the deeper and flat out better team here, and the fact that we are getting points with them as well makes this an easy pick for me. Give me UC-Davis and the points in a game I have the Aggies winning outright.
