The Indiana Hoosiers will travel to the Prudential Center to take on the 22nd ranked Seton Hall Pirates this Wednesday night in College Basketball action.
The Indiana Hoosiers rebounded from their shocking season opening loss to Indiana State to notch their first win of the season after an 86-77 victory over the Howard Bison this past Sunday. Indiana went into halftime with a comfortable 37-27 halftime lead and had no trouble securing the victory after a 12-5 run to start the half gave the Hoosiers a 49-32 lead with 16:44 left in the 2nd half. Indiana shot an impressive 54.1% from the field, however, the Hoosiers have to be disappointed with their performance at the FT-line as Indiana shot just 41.4% (12-29). Leading the way for the Hoosiers was Justin Smith who had a double-double with 16 points, 12 rebounds, 2 assists, and 2 blocks. On the season, Indiana is averaging 77.5 ppg on 50.9% shooting from the field. The Hoosiers are averaging 6.0 three-pointers per game on 30.0% shooting from beyond the arc. Offensively, Indiana has been led by De’Ron Davis (15.5 ppg, 4.5 rpg, 2.0 apg, 2.0 bpg), Aljami Durham (11.0 ppg, 2.5 rpg, 2.5 apg), and Robert Johnson (10.5 ppg, 3.0 rpg, 3.0 apg). Defensively, Indiana is allowing their opponents to average 83.5 ppg on 45.4% shooting from the field. The Hoosiers currently have a rebound margin of 1.5 and are averaging 6.0 steals per game.

Seton Hall shot 43.5% from the field and won the turnover battle by a 21-13 margin in the victory. Leading the way for the Pirates was Angel Delgado who had a double-double with 17 points, 11 rebounds, 1 assist, and a steal. On the season, Seton Hall is averaging 82.5 ppg on 46.3% shooting from the field. The Pirates are averaging 8.0 three-pointers per game on 32.7% shooting from beyond the arc. The Hoosiers are 3-1-1 ATS in their last 5 Wednesday games, however, are 0-4 ATS in their last 4 non-conference games. The Pirates are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 vs. Big Ten opponents however, are just 1-4 ATS in their last 5 home games.
It hasn’t been the dream start for Archie Miller and the Hoosiers this season as after giving up 17 three-pointers in a blowout loss at home against Indiana State, Indiana didn’t dominate Howard as much as you would expect. Seton Hall has looked impressive in both their victories and look as if they’ll be one of the tougher teams in the country as they have experience and talent in both the frontcourt and backcourt. Archie Miller has a young team and I’m confident that he’ll get Indiana headed in the right direction, however, unless the Hoosiers start playing some defense, it’s going to be tough to be a Hoosiers fan. I think Seton Hall at home will have no trouble with Indiana and I think that they pull away in the 2nd half to cover this large spread. Take Seton Hall to cover.
