The Santa Barbara Gauchos have been playing better then many expected and are out to continue to surprise. Santa Barbara is shooting for their 4th straight win after downing the Prairie View A&M Panthers 69-66 on Friday. Max Heidegger poured in a contest high 30 points on 9-15 from the floor including four makes from beyond the arc while UCSB received 15 points and 13 rebounds from Leland King II on 6-9 from the field. Gabe Vincent gave the Gauchos eleven points on 3-9 before fouling out in 31 minutes with Jalen Canty chipped in with seven points and nine boards.
The San Francisco Dons have ripped off three consecutive victories after dropping the season opener to the Long Beach State 49ers. San Francisco comes off of a 78-55 rout of the subdivision Sonoma State Seawolves behind a 45-19 first half run. The Dons burned the nets at 51% from the floor while limiting Sonoma State to just 32.3% to win easily.
Chase Foster led all scorers with 18 points and six rebounds on 7-11 from the field with four long balls while San Francisco saw Erik Paulsen add 14 points and six boards on 5-10 shooting. The Dons saw eleven points from Souley Boum while Jimbo Lull went 3-3 for another ten points.
