Over at LJVM Coliseum on Tuesday night, the Illinois Fighting Illini and the Wake Forest Demon Deacons will be meeting up in college basketball activity.

Illinois has opened the season at 6-0 on the year, beating Marshall, Augustana (IL) and North Carolina Central in their last three games. In that NCC game, Michael Finke put up 22 points with six rebounds.

On the year, Leron Black leads the Illini with 14.8 PPG and 5.5 RPG, and Michael Finke is right there with 14.7 PPG; 6.0 RPG. Also in double-figures for the Illini are Mark Smith (12.0 PPG), Aaron Jordan (11.8 PPG) and Kipper Nichols (11.2 PPG).

Over on the Wake Forest side, they’re currently 2-4 on the year. The Demon Deacons have won two of their last three games versus Quinnipiac and UNC Greensboro. In that UNCG game, Keyshawn Woods led the way for the Deacons with 20 points.

This year, Woods leads Wake Forest on 17.0 PPG, and Bryant Crawford is up there as well on 15.8 PPG, 3.5 RPG and 4.0 APG. Doral Moore is also in double-figures for the Demon Deacons with 10.3 PPG and 7.8 RPG.

Illinois is 7-2 ATS in their last nine non-conference games and 6-14-2 ATS in their last 22 Tuesday games. The Illini are also 3-8 ATS in their last 11 road games and the under is 4-0 in their last four Tuesday games.

Meanwhile, Wake Forest is 8-3-1 ATS in their last 12 home games and 1-4 ATS in their last five versus the Big 10. The Deacons are also 1-4-1 ATS in their last six non-conference games and 1-5-1 ATS in their last seven games overall.

Illinois has had a close call or two along the way this year, but overall they’ve been playing quite well. As for Wake Forest, they’ve been underachieving most of the season, but generally they’ve been staying in games. I like the Demon Deacons to hang around here and cover.
