The Coastal Carolina Chanticleers will try to build on a pair of back-to-back wins, including a 70-34 win over subdivision St. Andrews Presbyterian in their last outing. Demario Beck and Jaylen Shaw tied for the team lead with 12 points each, with Beck putting up 15 rebounds and 3 blocks for the double-double, while Shaw went 5 for 13 with a pair of steals. Amidou Bamba added 10 points and 8 boards to round out the scoring in double digits for the Chanticleers, while Josh Coleman fell one point shy of a double-double of his own with 9 points in addition to his 12 rebounds. Zac Cuthbertson leads Coastal Carolina with 19.8 points per game while Coleman leads the team in rebounding with 7.3 boards per game and Shaw is the team’s leading assist getter with 4.2 assists per game this season. As a team, Coastal Carolina is scoring 78.5 points per game on 46.6% shooting from the field, 37.5% from behind the arc and 71.1% from the foul line this season.
Wofford is 10-1 ATS in their last 11 games following a loss and 0-4 ATS in their last 4 games overall while the over is 3-1-1 in their last 5 road games. Coastal Carolina is 8-1-2 ATS in their last 11 home games and 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games against the SoCon while the over is 5-2 in their last 7 games overall.
Had this line stayed at 4.5, I would probably have backed Coastal Carolina here. But the line is swelling closer to double digits by the minute and I’m a little surprised by that. Sure, Wofford hasn’t looked very good in back-to-back losses and haven’t covered a lined game yet this season. But the Terriers can shoot the ball, and I’m not really willing to read into a 36-point win over a D-II team. As long as this line keeps growing, so will my lean towards Wofford, which is where I’m going in this one with the points.
