The Oral Roberts Golden Eagles and the Kansas State Wildcats face off in a college basketball tilt on Wednesday night.
The Oral Roberts Golden Eagles will look for a massive upset win to snap a 6 game losing streak after a 93-86 overtime loss to Oakland last time out. Albert Owens led the team with a game-high 33 points on 16 of 25 shooting with 10 rebounds and a whopping 7 blocks for a monstrous double-double. Austin Ruder came 2nd with 20 points on 6 of 11 shooting with 4 triples, 5 rebounds, 3 assists and 3 steals. Sam Kearns added 15 points on 5 triples with a team-high 4 assists to round out the scoring in double figures for the Golden Eagles in the loss. Owens leads Oral Roberts in scoring with 15.1 points per game, while Kearns leads the way in assists with 3.3 assists per game and Emmanuel Nzekwesi is the team’s top rebounder with 6.6 rebounds per game this season. As a team, Oral Roberts is scoring 68.4 points per game on 42.7% shooting from the field, 35.4% from behind the arc and 63.7% from the foul line this season.

The Kansas State Wildcats will look for another win to build on their strong 5-1 start to the year, rebounding from their first loss of the season with a 67-59 win over George Washington in their last outing. Kamau Stokes led the team with 19 points on 6 of 11 shooting with 3 triples and a pair of steals. Dean Wade came 2nd with 17 points and a team-high 9 rebounds with a pair of blocks, falling just short of the double-double, while Barry Brown chipped in 15 points to round out the double-digit scoring for K-State in the win. Makol Mawien and Xavier Sneed added 8 points apiece, as all 67 points for the Wildcats were scored by the starting 5. Brown leads the team in scoring with an average of 15.2 points per game while Wade leads the team in rebounding with 5.8 boards per game and Stokes is the team’s leading assist man with 3.3 dimes per game this season. As a team, Kansas State is scoring 77.2 points per game on 48.1% shooting from the field, 39.6% from behind the arc and 70.8% from the foul line this season. The Wildcats are also holding their opposition to just 59 points per game on 36.4% shooting from the field, the 14th and 15th-lowest totals in the country respectively.
Oral Roberts is 1-6 ATS in their last 7 road games and 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games against the Big 12 while the over is 21-9 in their last 30 games overall. Kansas State is 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games overall and 1-3-1 ATS in their last 5 games against a team with a losing record while the under is 7-3 in their last 10 games following a win.
I’m not ready to give Oral Roberts much credit after hanging up 86 on Oakland in defeat, as Oakland in all honesty hasn’t been very good this season. In their 2 games this season against what I consider top-tier competition in Oklahoma State and Penn State, they’ve scored 48 points in each game with a 71 point outing against Tulsa thrown in there to start the year. That won’t fly against a Kansas State team that doesn’t allow many points to begin with, let alone against a team that can’t score against the big boys. I’ll lay the points with the Wildcats here as more of a fade from Oral Roberts.
