USA TODAY Sports

Blake Simmons was the Purple Aces top scoring option with 15 points and six boards on 6-13 rom the floor with three bombs followed by a 12 point effort from Dru Smith on 4-6 from the field. Ryan Taylor added eleven points for Evansville while Dainius Chatkevicius added ten points and hauled in a team high eight rebounds on 5-7.

The New Mexico Lobos are out to halt an early season swoon that has seen the team drop four in a row following an 80-65 defeat versus the Maryland Terrapins as a 12.5 point underdog on Saturday. An 18 point first half hole sealed the fate of New Mexico who didn’t have the horses to overcome such a large deficit. UNM allowed 52.2% shooting but their own 33.3% accuracy and 17 more shot attempts still fell well short.

Chris McNeal was the Lobos top offensive player with 19 points on 6-14 from the field with Anthony Mathis tossing in 12 points  on 4-6 from the floor which including a 4-5 mark on three pointers before he fouled out in 17 minutes.

Evansville are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 non-conference games and Evansville are 5-13 ATS in their last 18 road games. Under is 7-2 in New Mexico last 9 home games and under is 16-5 in New Mexico last 21 overall and New Mexico are 48-20-3 ATS in their last 71 Wednesday games.

I think New Mexico is more on the level of the Purple Aces which has me looking at the points…
