The Massachusetts Minutemen visit the Quinnipiac Bobcats in a non-conference college basketball tilt.
The Massachusetts Minutemen appear to be a team that needs both ends of the floor to be on the same page to succeed. Massachusetts is coming off of back to back defeats following a 68-66 loss to the Brigham Young where a ten point lead at the break wilted under a 40-28 Cougars second half run. The Minutemen held a solid 44.2%-36.2% edge in marksmanship but it wasn’t enough with BYU 14 more looks at the basket.

Rashaan Holloway kept the Minutemen in the game with 16 points and eight rebounds on 6-8 from the field followed by Malik Hines with ten points on 4-5 shooting. Luwane Pipkins and Carl Pierre each scored nine points while Unique McLean and Chris Baldwin gave UMass eight points apiece.
The Quinnipiac Bobcats opened the 2017-18 campaign with a win but it’s been all downhill since with the team suffering through a five game slide capped off by a 78-72 loss to the Maine Black Bears on Saturday. Maine jumped to a 23 point lead heading to the locker room before a spirited Bobcats rally ran out of time. The Black Bears burned the nets at 52.9% with the Bobcats countering 35.5% with eleven more baskets and eight more free throws keeping things competitive.
Chaise Daniels supplied the Bobcats with a contest high 24 points and a game high seven rebounds on 6-9 from the floor while committing seven turnovers. Andrew Robinson hit four long balls in scoring 17 points while Rich Kelly added eight points six assists.
Under is 7-2 in UMass last 9 overall and under is 9-3 in UMass last 12 non-conference games and UMass are 7-18-1 ATS in their last 26 Wednesday games. Quinnipiac are 3-12-2 ATS in their last 17 games overall and over is 9-3 in Quinnipiac last 12 home games.
UMass doesn’t strike me as a team that stands out but this is game they can win by double figures…
