The William & Mary Tribe won their 2nd straight game and improved to 3-2 on the season after defeating the Old Dominion Monarchs, 79-77, this past Saturday. In a tight back and forth game, William & Mary pulled out an incredible victory after Oliver Tot’s made a half-court shot as time expired. William & Mary was solid on the offensive end of the court as the Tribe shot 58.3% from the field and 60.0% (15-25) from beyond the arc in the victory. Leading the way for the Tribe was David Cohn who had 25 points, 9 assists, 4 rebounds, and 4 steals. On the season, William & Mary is averaging 79.0 ppg on 46.5% shooting from the field. The Thundering Herd are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 Wednesday games and 12-5-1 ATS in their last 18 non-conference games. The Tribe are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 games vs. C-USA opponents and 7-1-1 ATS in their last 9 home games.
Marshall has been one of the better offensive teams in the country this season as they come in ranking 21st in scoring offense and 63rd in FG%, however, the Thundering Herd have struggled defensively as they rank 319th in scoring defense. William & Mary is coming off an incredible win and although they also like giving up points (260th in scoring defense), the Tribe are one of the best at hitting the three-pointers as they rank 18th in three-pointers made per game and 11th in 3P-FG%. I expect this one to be a high scoring game, however, William & Mary is a tough team to play when they are at home and as I think they’ll get plenty of open looks against the Marshall defense, I’m taking the Tribe to cover this spread.
