The non-conference college basketball schedule continues with the Indiana-Purdue Jaguars battle the Ball State Cardinals Saturday.
The Indiana-Purdue Jaguars are still looking for back to back wins after suffering a 90-77 road loss to the Western Illinois Leatherbacks as a 2.5 point favorite. Indiana-Purdue lost this in the first half when WIU jumped to a 48-24 lead and coasted the rest of the way. The Leathernecks connected at 60.4% from the floor and sank 12 more free throws to easily overcome the Jaguars 39.7% accuracy and 25 more looks at the basket.

DJ McCall poured in 25 points and hauled in eight rebounds on 9-20 from the field with three long balls while Jaylen Minnett gave Indiana-Purdue 12 points and four yanks on 4-10 shooting including three bombs. The Jaguars received a combined 18 Elyjah Goss and Aaron Brennan with Brennan logging six boards.
The Ball State Cardinals have weathered a solid non-conference schedule thus far as the team has won and lost where expected. Ball State comes in off of an 81-57 victory versus the sub division Oakland City Mighty Oaks that was decided on a 41-19 second half run. The difference was shooting where the Cardinals held a 55.1%-35.4% advantage while sinking 16 more free throws.
Tahjai Teague was the top option for the Cardinals offense with 16 points and a game high nine rebound on 7-9 from the floor with Ishmael El-Amin tossing in 13 points on 4-7 from the field. Kyle Mallers was next in line with 12 points and seven boards while Ball State received eleven points apiece from Tayler Persons and Sean Sellers.
