The Tennessee Tech Golden Eagles take the hardwood with the Furman Paladins in non-conference college basketball on Saturday.
The Tennessee Tech Golden Eagles don’t have a history of success but that hasn’t stopped the team from storming to six consecutive victories following an 86-80 win versus the Lipscomb Bison. High scoring Tennessee Tech was outshot 50.8%-43.4% but turned 33 Lipscomb fouls in to 24 makes at the charity stripe.

Curtis Phillips Jr. paced the Golden Eagles scoring parade with a contest high 20 points on 5-12 from the floor including 10-13 at the line with Mason Ramsey and Stepaun Adams adding 15 points apiece with Adams posting six boards. The twosome of Kajon Mack and Aleksa Jugovic tossed in 12 and ten points to give Tennessee Tech plenty of scoring options.
The Furman Paladins have yet to distinguish themselves but they are one of the top teams in the SoCon. Furman saw their modest two game winning streak come to an end in a 93-74 loss to the Winthrop Eagles who jumped to a 52-32 lead after 20 minutes and never looked back. Furman struggled to 36.7% shooting while Winthrop connected at 50.7% for 13 more baskets.
Daniel Fowler was the Paladins top scoring threat with 16 points, two steals and two blocks on 5-10 from the field with Matt Rafferty adding 13 points and eleven rebounds on 5-9 accuracy. John Davis III tossed in 12 points while Clay Mounce and Andrew Brown combined for 20 points to giver Furman scoring options although the team needed more stops.
Tennessee Tech looks better then most have thought although Furman is better so this should go back and forth…
