The Montana State Bobcats improved to 5-3 on the season after defeating the NCCAA Bethesda Flames, 98-61, this past Wednesday. Montana State went into halftime with a 37-25 lead and used a big offensive 2nd half, in which the Bobcats scored 61 total points, to easily pull away for the victory. Montana State shot 56.1% from the field and 50.0% (12-24) from beyond the arc in the win. Leading the way for the Bobcats was Tyler Hall who had 20 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists, and 2 steals. On the season, Montana State is averaging 82.0 ppg on 46.2% shooting from the field. The Bobcats are averaging 9.0 three-pointers per game on 40.4% shooting from beyond the arc. Offensively, Montana State has been led by Tyler Hall (21.6 ppg, 3.6 rpg, 2.9 apg), Herald Frey (14.1 ppg, 3.6 rpg, 3.6 apg, 1.3 spg), Keljin Blevins (9.6 ppg, 5.3 rpg, 1.1 apg), and Isaac Bonton (8.8 ppg, 3.1 rpg, 1.6 apg). Defensively, Montana State is allowing their opponents to average 75.0 ppg on 44.3% shooting from the field. The Bobcats have a rebound margin of 2.6 and a turnover margin of 1.4.

The Milwaukee Panthers improved to 5-2 on the season after defeating the Northern Illinois Huskies, 75-62, this past Wednesday. Milwaukee held a slight lead at halftime, however, used a strong defensive 2nd half in which Milwaukee only allowed 29 total points, to help propel the Panthers to the victory. Milwaukee shot 57.7% from the field and outrebounded Northern Illinois by a 39-25 margin in the victory. Leading the way for the Panthers was Brett Prahl who had a double-double with 18 points, 10 rebounds, 2 blocks, and a steal. On the season, Milwaukee is averaging 67.7 ppg on 46.3% shooting from the field. The Panthers are averaging 6.6 three-pointers per game on 30.9% shooting from beyond the arc. Offensively, Milwaukee has been led by Brock Stull (13.0 ppg, 4.3 rpg, 2.6 apg), Bryce Nze (11.0 ppg, 7.7 rpg, 1.3 apg), Bryce Barnes (10.0 ppg, 3.0 rpg, 1.5 apg), and Brett Prahl (9.9 ppg, 6.3 rpg, 1.3 apg, 1.1 bpg). Defensively, Milwaukee is holding their opponents to an average of 64.7 ppg on 44.8% shooting from the field. The Panthers have a rebound margin of 4.0 and a turnover margin of -0.3.
The Bobcats are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 non-conference games and 0-5 ATS in their last 5 games following a straight up win. The Panthers are 4-0-1 ATS in their last 5 games vs. Big Sky opponents and 7-3 ATS in their last 10 games overall.
Montana State has the best player in the Big Sky in Tyler Hall and has been great on the offensive end as they rank T-76th in scoring offense and 41st in 3P-FG%. Milwaukee has struggled offensively this season as the Panthers rank just 305th in scoring offense, however, the Panthers have been solid defensively as they rank T-55th in scoring defense. Montana State hasn’t played much in competition as two of there wins have been against Montana Western and Bethesda (CA) and as I think Milwaukee’s defense will give Tyler Hall and the Bobcats trouble, I’m taking the Panther to cover this home spread.
