Non-conference college basketball features a bout between the Central Florida Knights and the Alabama Crimson Tide.

After kicking off the season 4-0  the Central Florida Knights have floundered a bit with three consecutive defeats following a 62-59 loss to the Missouri Bears as a four point underdog on Thursday. The boxscore was about dead even with a slight shooting advantage of 45.5%-44.2% favoring Missouri being the difference.

AJ Davis paced the Central Florida attack with 14 points and nine rebounds on 5-11 from the floor but only 3-6 from the line. Tacko Fall gave the Knights 12 points and six boards on 6-7 accuracy while Dayon Griffin and Terrell Allen combined 17 points and eight pulls.

The 6-1 Alabama Crimson Tide are off to an outstanding start to 2017-18 with a five point loss to the Minnesota Golden Gophers separating the team from perfection. Alabama comes off of a 77-74 victory versus the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs as an 11.5 point favorite on Wednesday where 44.4% shooting overcame 18 turnovers and 36.9% shooting of the Bulldogs.

The two man production of Dazon Ingram and Collin Sexton carried the Crimson Tide offense with 22 points apiece and a combined 14 rebounds on 10-26 from the field and 22-28 from the stripe. Donta Hall rounded out  the top producers for Alabama with six others chipping in with 20 points.

Under is 7-1 in Central Florida last 8 vs. Southeastern and Central Florida are 7-3 ATS in their last 10 games overall. Under is 13-3 in Alabama last 16 Sunday games and under is 24-8 in Alabama last 32 home games and under is 19-7 in Alabama last 26 non-conference games.

I don’t see Central Florida doing anything but covering as they haven’t things together yet…
