The Northern Illinois Huskies are enjoying a small surge with wins in three of four following a 95-77 win at the Chicago State Cougars Saturday. Northern Illinois cranked it up offensively with a 53-34 at the intermission holding up. The Huskies held a 52.3%-42.4% shooting advantage that added up to nine field goals.

Eugene German poured in a game high 26 points with six assists and three steals on 10-17 from the floor while Levi Bradley gave NIU 14 points and five pulls on 6-8 shooting. Northern Illinois received 13 points from Rod Henry-Hayes on 5-8 from the field while Justin Thomas and Dante Thorpe combined for 20 points.
After opening the 2017-18 season 0-2, the Iowa State Cyclones have reeled off four straight victories following a 70-45 rout of the visiting Western Illinois Leathernecks. Iowa State only led by four at the half before exploding for a 41-20 run over the final 20 minutes behind a 43.1%-32.8% edge in marksmanship.
