The Charlotte 49ers on the other hand, will try to reach .500 after falling to 3-4 on the year thanks to back-to-back losses, including an 87-82 loss to James Madison last time out. Hudson Price led the team with 24 points on 9 of 13 shooting with 3 threes and 8 rebounds, while Jon Davis added 16 points, 10 assists and 6 rebounds for the double-double. Andrien White chipped in 13 points to round out the scoring in double figures for the 49ers in the loss, while Najee Garvin added 8 points and his team-high 9 rebounds. Davis leads Charlotte with an average of 14.3 points and 6.4 assists per game while Price is the team’s leading rebounder with 5.7 boards per game this season. As a team, Charlotte is scoring 79.7 points per game on 48.2% shooting from the field, 43.2% from 3-point range and 67.9% from the foul line this season.
Wake Forest is 3-1-1 ATS in their last 5 games overall and 5-2 ATS in their last 7 games following a win while the under is 5-1 in their last 6 non-conference games. Charlotte is 3-8 ATS in their last 11 against the ACC and 1-9-1 ATS in their last 11 non-conference games while the over is 5-0 in their last 5 home games.
As much as I want to take the points and the 49ers on their home floor, I can’t go with Charlotte as they haven’t covered a spread so far this season. Wake Forest isn’t a dominating team by any stretch, but they come into this one in much better form and should be able to take this one by 10-11 points so I’ll go with Wake Forest here.
