The South Dakota Coyotes had their 2-game winning streak snapped and dropped to 7-3 on the season after being defeated by the top-seeded Duke Blue Devils, 96-80, this past Saturday. South Dakota had no answers for the offensive firepower of the Blue Devils and couldn’t fight back after trailing by a 56-30 margin at halftime. South Dakota allowed Duke to shoot 55.6% from the field and was outrebounded by the Blue Devils by a 48-24 margin. Defensively, South Dakota is holding their opponents to an average of 66.9 ppg on 39.0% shooting from the field. The Coyotes have a rebound margin of 4.0 and a turnover margin of 2.6.
The Bulldogs are 11-2 ATS in their last 13 games vs. a team with a winning straight up record however, are 1-6 ATS in their last 7 road games. The Coyotes are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 non-conference games and 13-3-1 ATS in their last 17 games vs. a team with a winning straight up record.
Drake has played better than expected so far this season, led by their offensive that ranks 47th in scoring offense, T-36th in three-pointers made per game and 19th in 3P-FG%. South Dakota is one of the best teams in the Summit this season, and have been solid on both ends of the court as the Coyotes rank 79th in scoring offense and 81st in scoring defense. South Dakota is a talented team that should win this game, however, Drake has played well against quality opponents this season and as they have the three-point shooting to put up points in the hurry, I’m taking Drake to cover with the points.
