Early Saturday out at LJVM Coliseum, the Tennessee Volunteers and the Wake Forest Demon Deacons will be meeting up in college basketball action.

Tennessee enters this game at 8-2 on the season. The Volunteers dropped a tough one to North Carolina, but won their most recent game versus Furman. In that one, Tennessee guard Jordan Bowden led the way on 21 points.

Tops in scoring for Tennessee this year is Grant Williams, with 15.8 PPG and a team-high 7.0 RPG. Also in double-figures for the Volunteers are Admiral Schofield (11.7 PPG; 5.1 RPG) and Bowden (11.5 PPG).

As for Wake Forest, they’re 7-4 this season. The Demon Deacons have won their last six straight games, most recently against Coastal Carolina. In that Chanticleers game, Wake Forest’s Bryant Crawford put up 22 points.

Crawford is the lead scorer for Wake Forest this year on 16.4 PPG and 4.9 RPG. Keyshawn Woods (15.8 PPG) and Doral Moore (11.1 PPG; 7.9 RPG) are also in double-digits for the Demon Deacons.

The Volunteers are 5-1 ATS in their last six versus the ACC and 3-7 ATS in their last 10 games following a straight-up win. The under is 5-1 in Tennessee’s last six versus the ACC and 18-8-1 in their last 27 road games.

Meanwhile, the Deacons are 10-1 ATS in the last 11 Saturday games and 7-1-1 ATS in their last nine following an ATS loss. Wake Forest is also 10-3-1 ATS in their last 14 home games and 3-1-1 ATS in their last five games overall.

Tennessee’s only losses this year have been to ranked teams, and they haven’t fallen by double-digits yet. The Volunteers have had a couple of scares here and there but overall have been playing well. As for Wake Forest, they stumbled out of the gate (losing four of five) but have really come on lately. This should be a fun game, and I expect Wake Forest to keep pace here.
