The Akron Zips fell to the Princeton Tigers in the Diamond Head Classic by a 64-62 count where their offense never found the shooting touch on Saturday. Akron had a seven point lead at the intermission but couldn’t hang on with the Tigers holding a 44.2%-35.1% shooting advantage.

The Zips offense received a contest high 18 points and six boards from Malcolm Duvivier on 6-15 from the floor with all six field goals coming from distance. Eric Parrish gave the Zips 16 points, three yanks and two steals on 6-9 shooting with three bombs while Daniel Utomi added 13 points, six pulls and three assists on 4-14 from the field.
The Davidson Wildcats are looking for a quick change in momentum after Saturday’s 79-71 loss to the Hawaii Warriors in the Diamond Head Classic left the team staring at three straight defeats. Davidson allowed 46.6% shooting to the Warriors and mustered just 38.1% for a difference of five field goals.
Peyton Aldredge paced the Wildcats with a contest high 26 points, seven rebounds, three assists on 8-23 from the floor including 2-10 on three pointers. Kellan Grady gave Davidson 16 points and five boards on 7-14 accuracy while Jon Axel Gudmundsson added 13 points, five rebounds and five assists on 3-8 from the field.
