Heading up the scoring for the Eagles this year is Elijah Minnie with 18.0 PPG and 6.8 RPG, and James Thompson is second on 17.7 PPG and 12.4 RPG. Also in the double-digit club for Eastern Michigan are Jackson (17.0 PPG) and Tim Bond (10.4 PPG).
Over on the Syracuse side, they’re currently 10-2 on the season. The Orange had a four-game winning streak coming into the St. Bonaventure game, but fell in OT on Friday. In that game, Syracuse’s top scorer was guard Frank Howard with 17 points.
Tyus Battle leads the Orange in scoring with 19.9 PPG to his name this season. Also in double-digits for Syracuse this year are Osha Brissett (15.6 PPG; 9.8 RPG) and Howard (15.5 PPG; 6.1 APG).
The Eagles are 4-0 ATS in their last four non-conference games and 4-0 ATS in their last four games overall. Eastern Michigan is also 4-9 ATS in their last 13 Wednesday games and 1-5 ATS in the last six versus the ACC.
Meanwhile, the Orange are 7-2-1 ATS in their last 10 versus the MAC and 2-5 ATS in their last seven non-conference games. Syracuse is also 2-5 ATS int heir last seven games overall and 0-5 ATS in the last five home games.
The Eagles fell behind early in that Oakland game, getting outscored 43-31 in the first half. Eastern Michigan came back to score 50 in the second half, but wasn’t able to catch up in an 86-81 loss. Eastern Michigan has been giving up quite a bit of points at times this year, so that’s a little concerning. Still, I think the Eagles have enough scoring to keep up here and cover.
