The Bradley Braves visit the Drake Bulldogs to kick off their MVC college basketball slate.
The Bradley Braves have been enjoying their best start in recent memory and look to carry that momentum in to conference play. Bradley had won three straight before falling to the Ole Miss Rebels by an 82-59 count as a seven point road dog. The Braves were down 20 at the halfway point and couldn’t mount a come back with Ole Miss holding a huge 46%-32.3% shooting edge.

The Rebels had multiple offensive options and Bradley’s were limited with Darrell Brown being the best player with 16 points, three yanks and five assists on 7-18 from the floor. Nate Kennell gave the Braves seven points while Luuk van Bree, Donte Thomas and Dwayne Lautier-Ogunleye chipping in with six points each.
The Drake Bulldogs are hoping to regroup from a slow start to 2017-18 as the Missouri Valley schedule begins. Drake will be aiming for consecutive victories after routing the Maryland E. Shore Hawks 81-57 with a 48-29 second half run breaking open a close game. The Bulldogs were dominant at both ends of the floor with a 49.1%-33.3% shooting advantage.
Drake saw Reed Timmer pour in a game high 21 points with five pulls and six assists on 6-13 from the floor including 4-8 from long range. De’Antae McMurray gave the Bulldogs 16 points, three yanks and three assists followed by Casey Schlatter and Ore Arogundade with a combined 19 points.
Under is 12-1 in Bradley last 13 overall and Bradley are 16-5-1 ATS in their last 22 games overall. Under is 16-5 in Drake last 21 Thursday games and over is 45-20 in Drake last 65 home games.
My thinking here is a decent Bradley team at small chalk is a pretty good deal…
