The Line: UTEP Miners -3 -- Over/Under: See the Latest Odds

Down at Don Haskins Center on Thursday, the North Texas Mean Green and the UTEP Miners will be matching up on the college basketball court.

North Texas enters this game with a 7-6 record on the season. The Mean Green had a nice three-game win streak going but lost their last outing to Georgetown. In that one, North Texas’ Ryan Woolridge scored 20 points.

Roosevelt Smart leads the way in scoring for North Texas this year with 17.6 PPG, and Woolridge has 13.5 PPG. Also in double-figures for the Mean Green are Shane Temara (11.2 PPG), AJ Lawson (10.8 PPG) and Umoja Gibson (10.5 PPG).

Over on the UTEP side, they’re sitting at 5-7 this season. After a four-game winning streak, the Miners lost their last game versus North Dakota State. In that NDSU game, UTEP’s Keith Frazier scored 18 points.

Frazier is the top scorer for UTEP this season on 14.6 PPG and 6.5 RPG. Also in the double-digit club for the Miners are Matt Willms (13.4 PPG; 6.4 RPG) and Omega Harris (12.6 PPG).

North Texas is 5-1 ATS in their last six games overall and 4-1 ATS in their last five road games. The Mean Green are also 2-5 ATS in their last seven versus Conference USA and the under is 4-1 in the last five road games.

Meanwhile, the Miners are 9-0 ATS in their last nine Thursday games and 12-1 ATS in their last 13 home games. UTEP is also 14-2 ATS in they last 16 versus Conference USA and 18-3 ATS in their last 21 games overall.

North Texas has some very solid spring on their roster this year, but they are prone to lulls offensively here and there, as evidenced by 60 points versus UT Arlington and 63 versus Georgetown. As for UTEP, they looked decent in that four-game run but put up just 51 in the NDSU game. All things considered, I like North Texas to cover here.
