Out at UWM Panther Arena on Thursday, the Oakland Golden Grizzlies and the Milwaukee Panthers will be meeting up in college basketball action.

Oakland enters this game with an 8-5 record so far. The Grizzlies have won three of their last four games, taking out Chicago State, Towson and Eastern Michigan in that time. In that EMU game, Oakland’s Jalen Hayes led the team on 37 points.

Tops in scoring for Oakland this year is Kendrick Nunn with 23.5 PPG, 4.0 RPG and 4.4 APG, while Hayes is sitting on 21.3 PPG and 8.4 RPG. Also in double-figures for the Grizzlies is Martez Walker with 19.8 PPG.

Over on the Milwaukee side, they’re currently 7-6 on the year. The Panthers have lost three of their last four outings, falling to Western Illinois, Belmont and Western Michigan in that span. In the Western Michigan game, Milwaukee’s top scorer was Brock Stull with 23 points.

Stull leads the Panthers this year in scoring with 14.3 PPG and 4.5 RPG. The only other Milwaukee player in double-figures is Jeremiah Bell (11.4 PPG), but Brett Prahl (9.6 PPG) and Bryce Nze (9.4 PPG; 7.7 RPG) are close.

Oakland is 7-1 ATS in their last eight Thursday games and 6-1 ATS in their last seven versus the Horizon League. The Grizzlies are also 1-5 ATS in their last six road games and 42-16-1 ATS in their last 59 games following a straight-up win.

Meanwhile, the Panthers are 4-1 ATS in their last five games following a straight-up loss and 4-1 ATS in their last five games following an ATS loss. Milwaukee is also 44-19-5 ATS in their last 68 Thursday games and 3-8 ATS in the last 11 home games.

Oakland has been scoring pretty well lately. Over their last five games, they’ve put up at least 82 points in four of them. As for Milwuakee, they haven’t quite gotten things going recently, logging 69 points or fewer in six of their last seven. I like Oakland to stay hot here and cover.
